Thank you so much for your concern about our CEO, Ken Rakusin, his family, and their home. Fortunately, his family was able to evacuate safely and are now staying together at another property. While Ken’s home did sustain significant damage, estimated between $30,000 and $50,000 without insurance as State Farm dropped their coverage a few months ago, we truly feel it was a miracle that the house is still standing.
To give you an idea of the destruction around us: if you exit the home and look to the right, just four houses away, you'll see complete devastation stretching for about a mile and a half. However, to the left, there's minimal or no damage at all. It's truly astonishing how random and unpredictable this fire has been.
Our factory and offices are located 15-20 miles away from the nearest fire, so they are completely safe and secure. All of our team members are also living a similar or greater distance from the fires, so everyone is out of harm’s way.
We’re grateful to be safe and look forward to continuing business as usual.
Abrasive micro spiral brushes are miniature brushes that can be used for a multitude of applications. Popular uses include ultra-fine wet or dry deburring and finishing, edge blending, and cleaning.
These long wearing, acid resistant, single spiral, abrasive micro brushes are made with Nylon fill material impregnated with an abrasive mineral such as silicate, using 500 grit aluminum oxide or 600 grit aluminum oxide. 500 grit aluminum oxide is a medium density abrasive whereas 600 grit is much finer. Gritted aluminum oxide is a very popular abrasive choice being both fracture-resistant and strong, with a Mohs value of 7. The 0.008" silicate grit mineral filler adds hardness to the Nylon filaments. The sides of the Nylon filaments act as flexible files to reach surfaces where wire bristles might not be as effective.
The wire stems of the spiral brushes are made of either stainless steel or galvanized steel. Stainless steel has superior resistance to heat, rust, salt water and corrosion and is excellent for both wet and dry applications. Galvanized steel is coated with a thin layer of zinc that helps guard against corrosion and unwanted damage through chlorine exposure.
Brush lengths range from 5/8" to 1-1/2", with overall lengths of 3" or 5", and brush diameters with a range from 0.035" to 1.015". When selecting the correct size of brush for an application, it is essential to know the hole diameter into which the brush will be inserted.
