Spiral/Twisted-In-Wire Brushes

A twisted in wire brush is known by many names, including: spiral, tube, flue, bottle, pipe, boiler and power brush. These names all represent the same brush construction, where a piece of wire is doubled over, and the fill material is inserted between the fold of the wire stem. The wire stem is then twisted into a brush. The fill material can also be located at one end of the brush, with the handle extending from it. In addition, the fill can be centered in the wire, with two long ends, one on each side.

The inserted fill material can be made using wire, natural, or synthetic fibers. The end of a spiral/ twisted in wire brush can vary considerably: cut tips, rounded tips and filled tips. Gordon Brush’s brushes also offer the option of having for a long or short-ended handle, with end ring, loop or cut end to be used with power tools.

Gordon Brush® offers 16 categories of spiral/twisted-in-wire brushes. These spiral or twisted-in-wire brushes are available with wire, natural or synthetic fill material. In addition, other attributes such as stem material; stem style; spiral style; stem diameter; bristle diameter, brush length; overall length; and brush diameter are also selectable.

Commonly referred to as twisted-in-wire brushes, other names include tube brushes, bottle brushes, pipe brushes, twist brush or internal cleaning brushes. These brushes are suitable for both hand-held use and for use in power tools; including drills, drill presses and CNC machining centers. For your convenience, this brush type comes in wholesale packages as well.

General applications for this stock brush include cleaning, de-burring, polishing, reaming, finishing or removing debris or burrs from internal non-metallic and metallic surfaces. Specific applications for twisted-in-wire brushes include: cleaning internal tubing and piping and cylinders; de-burring machined and threaded holes in castings, tanks and machined parts; abrasive brushes for tough slag removal; cleaning medical devices and equipment; cleaning laboratory equipment and beakers; cleaning hydraulic fittings and nozzles; shotgun, pistol and rifle cleaning; whisper light brushes for cleaning electronic and computer components; used to dissipate lightning; remove gases during vacuum distillation process; used in removing water bubbles in air fluid control; clean refrigerator coils; clean valve guides; and clean automotive and aircraft parts.
